Creamy Mustard Sauce

Servings: 6 servings (2 Tbsp per serving)

This sauce is delicious drizzled over baked ham, roasted turkey, chicken, fish or pork. Try adding honey for a slightly sweet, even more complex flavor.


1 cup dry white wine

¼ cup finely chopped shallots

3 sprigs fresh thyme

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 Tbsp Lars Own® Swedish Style Spicy Brown Mustard

1 Tbsp Honey (optional)


  1. In a small saucepan, combine wine, shallots and fresh thyme. Bring to a boil over medium heat; simmer until reduced to almost dry, 8-10 minutes.
  2. Add cream and bring to a boil; simmer until sauce is thick and coats the back of a spoon, 6-7 minutes. For a thicker consistency, allow to reduce 2-3 minutes longer.
  3. Strain sauce through a fine mesh sieve. Stir in Lars Own® Swedish Style Spicy Brown Mustard and honey, if desired.

Cook's tips

Lars Own® Swedish Style Sweet & Mild Mustard can be used in place of the Spicy Brown Mustard, if desired.
