Classic Mustard Deviled Eggs

Cook time: 20 minutes plus cooling time

Servings: 12 servings (2 egg halves per serving)

An absolute must for summer gatherings, these deviled eggs are packed with the zesty flavor of mustard. Delicious when prepared with either Lars Own® Spicy Brown Mustard or Sweet & Mild Mustard.


12 large eggs

¼ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup Lars Own® Swedish Style Spicy Brown Mustard

½ Tsp celery salt (see tip below)

¼ Tsp ground cayenne pepper

Ground paprika, black pepper and parsley (optional for garnish)


  1. Place a steamer basket into a 3-quart saucepan. Place eggs in steamer and cook, covered, over medium heat for 20 minutes. Immediately place eggs into ice water, allow to stand 5 minutes. Carefully peel eggs and cut each in half. Gently remove yolks and place in small bowl; arrange whites on serving platter.
  2. Add mayonnaise, Lars Own® Swedish Style Spicy Brown Mustard, celery salt and cayenne pepper to yolks; whisk until smooth. Spoon mixture into a small piping bag and fill egg white halves. Chill 2 hours. If desired, garnish with ground paprika, black pepper and parsley.

Cook's tips

Lars Own® Swedish Style Sweet & Mild Mustard can be used in place of the Spicy Brown Mustard, if desired.

If desired, ¼ Tsp table salt can be substituted for the celery salt in this recipe.
