Swedish Style Rice Porridge

Servings: 10 (1/2 cup each)


¾ cup Lars Own® Porridge Rice (½ package)

1¾ cups water

1 tsp salt

3 cups whole milk

1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Warm milk, sugar and ground cinnamon (optional)


  1. Combine rice, water and salt in 3-quart saucepan.
  2. Bring to a simmer; cover and cook over low heat 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in milk and cinnamon stick, if desired.
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring often.
  5. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve warm with milk, sugar and ground cinnamon, if desired.
