Crispy Onion Chicken Cutlets

These tender chicken cutlets are coated with a crunchy, flavorful layer of Lars Own® Gluten Free Organic French Fried Onions. Serve with a cool, refreshing salad.


4 boneless, skinless chicken breast cutlets, 1/2-inch thick (3 to 4 oz each)

2 Tbsp Spicy Brown Mustard, such as Lars Own®

¼ cup gluten-free all-purpose flour

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 container (3.5 oz) Lars Own® Gluten Free Organic French Fried Onions, finely crushed (about 1 cup)

½ Tsp salt

½ Tsp ground black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Season chicken cutlets on both sides with salt and pepper. Brush with mustard and allow to marinate for 20 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Finely crush Lars Own French Fried Onions and place in a shallow bowl. Lightly coat cutlets in flour, patting off excess.
  3. Dip cutlets in beaten egg and then in crushed onions, coating evenly.
  4. Place a baking rack onto a baking sheet and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange coated chicken cutlets on rack.
  5. Bake 14-16 minutes uncovered until coating is deep golden brown.
  6. Lightly cover with aluminum foil (to prevent overbrowning) and continue baking for 6 to 8 additional minutes until chicken is cooked through (165°F in center).
